SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
TRAINING & EDUCATION

Every month we carry out several training sessions for Parish Council Leaders, Catechists and parents in different dioceses.

Every month we hold several training sessions for secondary school teachers in different dioceses.

We run workshops for professionals.
 
We give Open Lectures every two months in institutions of higher learning such as Gabba National Seminary and Kampala International University. 

• We present petitions to Parliament on Justice & Peace issues, in particular for the integration of civic-ethical education into the National Curriculum.

RESEARCH & DOCUMENTATION

We carry out research in ten informal settlements of Kampala to establish the cost of living and the prevalence of poverty within the slums of the city especially duiring this global economic crisis.

We carried out research on other critical social issues such as food security in Northern Uganda and Domestic Violence.

We run workshops with representatives of different ethnic-cultural groups in Uganda to gather their traditional wisdom in promoting a just, reconciled and peaceful society.

ADVOCACY

We hold launchings for our findings together with the respective ministries, especially the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.


OTHER ACTIVITIES

• We design policies on gender, peace building, reconciliation and care for the environment.

• We take part in radio programs in Advent and Lent to present the Christian understanding of Justice, Reconciliation  and Peace in line with the 2nd African Synod.

• We regularly participate in workshops organised by the Justice & Peace Commission of the Uganda Catholic Episcopal Conference, the Uganda Human Rights Commission and NGOs like Trocaire. 

• We regularly publish articles about current social issues in the Daily Monitor and the Leadership Magazine.
