Peace and Peaceful Dispute Resolution
JPIIJPC undertakes comprehensive peace-building programs in the Bidibidi and Imvepi Refugee Settlements. To project aims to promote harmonious living among the refugees and with the host community in Imvepi and Bidibidi settlements in Northern Uganda. This is done through increasing participation, awareness and influence of youth and women in peace building initiatives, conducting community peace education that transforms the mindsets for greater social cohesion and promoting intercultural dialogue, trust building and appreciation of diversity to advance common peacebuilding goals of refugees and host communities. The Centre conducts Music Dance and Drama, radio talk shows, sports and cultural galas, training workshops, publicity content, inter – religious prayer conference and inter – community peace dialogue.
The Centre also engages in training various stakeholders in peace building across the country. The most recent one is the training of Catechists in peace building at Lodonga Minor Basilica, Yumbe District where 72 catechists and lay leaders benefited from the training on skills of peace building and conflict transformation.
